ASHOKA AND YOUTH VENTURE
Ashoka (www.ashoka.org) is the world’s largest association of social entrepreneurs — men and women who are pioneering new institutions and system-changing solutions for the world’s most urgent social problems. Since 1980, Ashoka has pioneered the field of social entrepreneurship, electing and connecting more than 2,200 individuals – elected as Ashoka fellows in over 70 countries.
Youth Venture (YV) is an international network of powerful young changemakers. Our network aims to help an entire generation of young people develop as leaders who will improve their communities now and throughout their lives. YV inspires and supports teams of young people to launch and lead their own civic-minded organizations and businesses. Youth teams access workshops, tools, adult allies, a global network of like-minded young changemakers, and seed funding to establish their own ventures that solve problems around them.
We believe that the greatest contribution we can make to the world is to increase dramatically the number of changemakers today and in every future generation. This is the key factor for success for every part of society, from a school to a company to an entire country. As such, YV is also working to help each part of society be more successful by being a place of changemakers. We work with corporations, universities, schools, civil society organizations, entire cities, and other entities that seek to be more successful by engaging with the youth entrepreneurial talent to drive change. YV operates in 17 countries and online at www.GenV.net
The culture at Youth Ventures is vibrant, dynamic, and collegial. We are a start-up organization, teeming with life, and seeking others who share a passion and dedication to social change through entrepreneurship. We are a small group doing pioneering work in the country, and as such we are looking for individuals with the creativity, drive and entrepreneurial spirit needed to make change happen.
