Rupesh’s Venture: LEAD

Rupesh was extremely troubled by the lack of education among the underprivileged kids of Airoli. He took it upon himself to nurture their ambitions and help realize them through formal education. A college professor, Rupesh started LEAD (Love, Education & Aspiration to change Destinies), to guide and encourage the children of the slums of Airoli village. LEAD functioned by enrolling children into school, making sure they maintained 100 % attendance, providing tuition classes and stationery supplies. He also conducts free coaching classes every day for two hours with the help of 20 volunteers. To overcome the challenge of unsteady parents who obstruct the development of their children, he organises regular counselling sessions to benefit the children. To make the entire learning experience interesting and exciting he organises functions during festivals and national holidays. The hard work and dedication has ensured school admissions for 50 students. Rupesh has big dreams for these children and the communities and is determined to see them turn into reality.
