Ramanbhai’s Venture - Navjeevan 

 A shy, quiet resident of Ghusargam in Tapi District, rural Gujarat, Raman has brought about phenomenal changes in the healthcare sector in his village in the last 8 months. Greatly motivated by seeing the hardships that the villagers had to endure for even common ailments he set his visions - to provide accessibility to health care facilities for each and every villager. His appeals to the Songadh administration and regular follow-ups have resulted in doctors visiting his village twice a month, regular Mobile van health checks and timely vaccination of the children. He is now working towards getting free medical treatment available so that the villagers are guaranteed access to healthcare facilities through out the year at very nominal charges. In his own words, “Initially I was very shy to talk to anybody and express my views. But, during my training workshops where I met people of my age doing similar work I realized that I too can stand up for myself and make a difference. This has not only helped my village but also helped me become a better person.”
