Monika’s Venture - Bridge

Basic human needs often go unmet in India’s poorest communities.  Monika, while doing her Masters in Disaster Management, realized that the resources to fulfill the needs of poor communities already exist – but they must be properly channelized.  Through her Venture, Monika seeks to build a channel to distribute surplus food, health, and hygiene products (that would otherwise go to waste) to impoverished rural communities.  So far, she has begun consulting two major pharmaceutical companies on utilizing their “waste” to improve quality of life for others.

One of Monika’s sources of inspiration and guidance is Anshu Gupta, the Ashoka Fellow who founded Goonj.  Learn more here.
