Malitha’s Venture - Sangam

Malitha from Dolwar village started her Venture, Sangam to work on construction and improvement of roads in her village. Commuting in her village was a herculean task. The roads were in very poor condition or non existent at all making travelling burdensome for the villagers. With patronage from the villager elders and guidance from Youth Venture she called for a meeting in her village elucidating all of the problem and the work she intends to undertake.Overcoming hardships and difficulties which came her way she started organising meetings in different locations, getting people together to support and assist in her cause. Today the roads are far improved and a new road is also under construction in her village. The villagers can now travel easily to any place they want without any discomfort. Malitha feels this effort has also improved her self confidence and developed leadership skills in her. “I will remember all the various activities that we did at Youth Venture. The workshops and the guidance that we received will always be there with me”, she adds.
