Chaitanya’s Venture: Dreamer’s Way

“Take a book from a child and you take away his dreams,” says Chaitanya.  Many children in his community don’t have the money to buy textbooks, much less books to read for pleasure.  Because of this, Chaitanya has created a community book bank.  First, he buys textbooks from students who’ve finished with them.  He then loans the books out to children who will need them for the coming school year.  The children put down a refundable deposit, from which Dreamer’s Way takes a small fee at the end of the year in order to buy back the next round of books.  Dreamer’s Way is also launching an awareness campaign around the power of reading to develop a child’s potential.
